ARTISTS in RESIDENCE

Who lives here? It's my first thought whenever I walk into a space. Whether it's to photograph it or not, a home is such a great peek into a life. It's one of the reasons I connect to my job so fiercely, I have an endless curiosity about peoples lives. And the homes are even more fascinating if the homeowners are bold, creative and self-actualized. Then there is usually a really deep connection between the homeowner and their space—the home is their canvas, a layered tableau of a rich, full life.

This project has enabled me to explore these lives through their spaces. I ask each person to give me a tour of their home and we end up having a really deep conversation around their space, their lives’ phases and how each phase has added a layer to their home. I photograph the home and then I photograph them in situ.
